Itinerary

Day One – Welcome to Trogir/Split and your yacht

Unpack your luggage and make yourself at home in your en-suite cabin on a motor yacht Linda*. It will be your home for a week. The yacht will be taking you to 6 beautiful islands (Brač, Vis, Korčula, Mljet, Pelješac and Hvar) during your holiday with us. But first, meet your guides who will, if needed, help you fit your bike and, over a welcome drink on board, explain what to expect during the following week. In the evening we are having a dinner at Konoba (tavern) Matejuška – family owned and, claimed by many, the finest seafood place in Dalmatia. No fancy dress, just exceptional food, olive oil and Dalmatian wine.

Destination: ACI Marina Trogir
Meals: Dinner

Day Two – Brač – Dalmatian islands at its finest

Our first day on a bike. After a hearty breakfast on board we’ll be cycling along the coast, passing old Mediterranean olive tree and lavender fields. Winding roads will take us through small towns and villages while we’re glimpsing authentic Dalmatian architecture and Mediterranean way of life. We will pass a village of Bobovišće where we will have lunch in a proper dalmatian konoba (tavern) Dalmatino. After a break, we’re heading to town of Milna where our yacht will be waiting for us. A stroll along Milna’s waterfront, admiring island’s architecture, will lead us to family owned konoba Lambik, where we will have  an authentic Mediterranean dinner. In konoba’s garden, surrounded by Mediterranean greens, the owner and the chef will guide us through the finest of island’s food.

Destination: Postira – Supetar – Sutivan – Milna
Meals: Breakfast / Light Lunch / Dinner
Completed: 45 km (28mi)
Ascent: 900 meters

Day Three – Vis – Vineyards and olive tree fields

Island of Vis only recently really allowed tourists to wander around, after being a base of Yugoslav navy for 50 years, after serving as a British base during the WWII. With most of the land covered in vineyards, the island’s landscape is stunning. Quiet and winding roads will lead us to Roki’s tavern where we’ll be sampling delicious Roki’s wine, prosciutto, figs and olives, learning why is Roki making the best wine in the island. Continuing our journey around Vis, we’ll pass through Komiža, a beautiful fisher’s town. The ride will finish in the original port of Vis. After the afternoon rest, the Land Rovers will take us to 200 years old and only recently renovated fortress, Fort George for the most beautiful view in Mediterranean. A dinner to remember.

Destination: Vis – Plisko – Polje – Podhumlje – Komiža
Meals: Breakfast / Light Lunch / Dinner
Completed: 39 km (24mi)
Ascent: 1350 meters

Day Four – Korčula – Fine roads of Marco Polo

Heading south today’s ride will take us to, some say, the birth place of one of the most famous explorers – Marco Polo. Passing magnificent scenery, crossing from one side of the island to another, we’ll discover why is Korčula home to some of the finest Croatian wines – Plavac Mali, Grk and Pošip, among others. A lunch in family owned tavernPeko will spoil us with flavour and taste. Continuing our ride along the coast with a beautiful view of Pelješac peninsula we’ll reach the walled town of Korčula dating from 16th century. A deserved break on the yacht and a walk along the narrow cobblestoned medieval streets of turbulent history will prepare us for a dinner one of the most famous island’s restaurants, Aterina. It will justify all the hard work of pedalling for past days.

Destination: Prigradica – Pupnat – Kneže – Korčula
Meals: Breakfast / Light Lunch / Dinner
Completed: 40 km (25mi)
Ascent: 920 meters

Day Five – National Park Mljet – Relax Day

Even an active holiday should have a break to relax. For those who don’t feel like spending a day off the saddle, we are happy to take you around the National park, for an easy, 20 kilometres ride. Either by foot or on bike, you will have a chance to admire the pristine beauty of one of only seven national parks in Croatia. Family owned small taverns Kiko and Ana in Pomena will help us discover the true beauty of mediterranean cuisine. The larger of two lakes hosts a benedictine monastery and a restaurant accessible only by boat. We trust you packed your swimming gear.

Destination: Sobra – Polače – Pomena
Meals: Breakfast / Light Lunch / Dinner

Day Six – Pelješac – Peninsula of fine Wine

Welcome to the finest wine producing peninsula in Dalmatia. After we have relaxed our muscles, we are taking the longest ride – 50 km (31mi) through captivating vineyards with a backdrop of crystal blue sea and green islands. After cycling along the narrow, winding coastal road surrounded by kilometres of steep vineyards, a true paradise for the eyes, we’ll pass through the famous Dingač tunnel. A long descent will take us for some refreshment and a tour of Korta Katarina Winery, which will help discover why are Pelješac wine sorts like Plavac Mali or Dingač frequently winning best taste awards worldwide. With more than half of the course behind us, refreshed we’ll be heading to the northern edge of the peninsula where the yacht is waiting for us. After a deserved break, we’ll have a dinner in konoba Mirce famous for locally fished sea food. Delicious!

Destination: Žuljana – Trstenik – Orebić – Lovište
Meals: Breakfast / Light Lunch / Dinner
Completed: 46 km (29mi)
Ascent: 1025 meters

Day Seven – Hvar – The star of Dalmatia

Our last day on a bike on this tour will take us to the star of dalmatian Islands, Hvar. Starting in Zavala on the island’s south side, we climb to pass the famous Zavala tunnel, reaching stunning views of the northern side. Passing through a number of picturesque and quiet villages on winding roads we will start climbing over the Stari Grad (Old Town), for a magnificent view of the island, blue Adriatic sea and mainland in the distance. A well deserved lunch will be served in Konoba Zbondini in Velo Grablje, before heading down to the magnificent town of Hvar. A stroll on the cobbled streets, infusing summer buzz of Hvar, and we are heading to an authentic tavern – konoba Menego.
